Pictures of Seattle

Welcome to my cityscape collection! I am James (Jim) Ritzman... I was born in Seattle, but have creeped northward to Shoreline and now Edmonds... I went to school in Seattle, and have worked in Bellevue.

I have over a decade of semi-pro photography experience, but only recently decided to try my hand at cityscapes.

Most of the pictures here were taken with a Fujifilm GFX 50S medium format camera, using either an 80mm or 30mm lens. Using a medium format camera allows me to capture an extreme level of detail and clarity which can only be fully appreciated when looking at the larger sizes of prints (16x20" and panoramics).

I do use Photoshop to make adjustments to the images, but I try to keep a natural feel to them. I hate overly-processed pictures.

All of the prints for sale here are made by myself on a Canon Pro-1000 printer. I care about the quality of my images, so I decided to go the self-print route instead of outsourcing the printing. This also allows me to use the paper I want, which is one of the smoothest glossy papers I have been able to find. The contrast and detail are amazing!
